The problem
The Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT), with support from the United Nations Road Safety Trust Fund (UNRSTF), implemented the project “Strengthening Road Safety Management for Evidence-Based Intervention”. A key component of the project was establishing a reliable Road Crash Data System to standardise crash data collection, improve data quality, and strengthen analytical capacity across relevant agencies.
Our approach
The Training of Trainers (ToT) brang together 30 officers from Uganda Police, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), and MoWT to strengthen evidence-based road safety interventions through reliable, timely and comprehensive crash data. The ToT aimed at building in-house capacity to operationalise the national digital road crash data management system and create a sustainable pool of trainers to cascade skills across institutions.
