The problem

SMALOG develops an advanced interdisciplinary Master’s programme focusing on the integration of intelligent transport and information technology in the management of transport systems in cities and Ukrainian and Georgian (UA&GE) universities.

Ukraine and Georgia have an inferior ecology and environmental quality in contradistinction to European countries, in most cases due to do not effective management of city transport system (e.g. 35% of CO2 in UA&GE is twice EU although the motorization rate is less than the half). With respect to the WHO data, the road accident death rate in UA&GE is more than 14.0 thousand for every 100 million people. Regarding the project’s thematic area, it is worth be mentioning the needs and challenges currently faced by the higher educational institutions of Georgia and Ukraine. Joining to the Bologna process is important and necessary for UA&GE Education and University system because of the need to solve the problem of recognition the Diplomas abroad, to improve the efficiency and the quality of education. This socio-economic integration of UA&GE into the European area will allow increasing the mobility of members of the educational society, employment opportunities, improving the competitiveness of UA&GE universities.
