On Thursday 4 December 2025, the “TRENDLINE Project Results Presentation” event was held at the Emiciclo Hall of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT). The event was organised by the MIT in collaboration with the Research Centre for Transport and Logistics (CTL) of Sapienza University of Rome.
TRENDLINE is a European initiative aimed at developing common indicators and advanced methodologies for road-safety monitoring. As Italy’s representative within the consortium, CTL presented the work carried out on:
-
adapting the common methodologies to the national context;
-
collecting the data required for defining the KPIs;
-
analysing the data and producing the indicators;
-
disseminating and promoting the use of the results within national road-safety policies.
The CTL research team highlighted how the project contributes to improving monitoring systems and supporting the development of reliable, data-driven strategies. To conclude the event, Prof. Luca Persia, Director of CTL and President of CTLup and FERSI, delivered a speech on the role of scientific research in promoting road safety, with a specific focus on the challenges and future perspectives in the Italian context.
