The 7th IRTAD Conference was held in Lyon, France, on 27-28 September 2022, in order to focus on improvements in the quality of data systems and data analysis in IRTAD and other countries as an essential way to build and monitor strong road safety policies in the Decade 2021-30.
The Conference was jointly organised by the International Transport Forum with the Université Gustave Eiffel, CEREMA, ONISR and ENTPE and witnessed the participation of CTLup’s road safety expert, Davide Shingo Usami, with the presentation of “Road safety monitoring centres in Italy: the case of the Lazio Region“.
The IRTAD (International Road Traffic and Accident Database) collects and aggregates international data on road crashes for 32 countries around the world. It thereby provides an empirical basis for international comparisons and more effective road safety policies. Over the years, IRTAD has come to stand not only for the database, but also for the International Traffic Safety Data and Analysis Group (or IRTAD group, for short) that brings together road safety experts from national road administrations, road safety research institutes, International Organisations, automobile associations, insurance companies, car manufacturers and others.
