35th ICTCT Conference: challenges and actual opportunities to improve road safety

Road Safety

The Conference was held in Catania and focused on new technologies able to improve road safety

The 35th ICTCT Conference took place in Catania (Italy), on 26-27 October 2023, under the theme “Challenges and actual opportunities offered by new technologies to improve traffic safety”.

ICTCT stands for “International Cooperation on Theories and Concepts in Traffic safety”. It is a worldwide association aiming since 1988 at sharing scientific knowledge on road safety and fostering proactive approaches that do not only rely on crash data, but also on non-crash events. ICTCT approaches safety as an integral part of the wider road traffic system, envisaging all transport modes with a specific emphasis on vulnerable road users and organizing conferences, courses, and opportunities for knowledge transfer, all directed to a professional audience.

The 35th ICTCT Conference was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Catania, in the wonderful nineteenth century setting of Pedagaggi Palace, and witnessed the participation of CTLup’s road safety expert, Steffel Ludivin Feudjio Tezong, as a listener.
