The plenary meeting of the ITF Working Group aims to develop an operational framework for the implementation of the systematic approach to road safety in the development of road safety policies

The International Transport Forum (ITF/OECD), together with the World Bank, is organising Safe System Meeting, the plenary meeting of the ITF Working Group which will be held online on 31 May 2021 and in which CTLup is actively participating with road safety experts Luca Persia, Davide Shingo Usami and Brayan González-Hernández.

The working group aims to develop an operational framework for the implementation of the systematic approach to road safety in the development of road safety policies, regardless of the level of development of the individual countries or cities involved.

The group analyses examples of implementation of this approach to develop indicators to monitor progress. The working group and the World Bank plan to publish a report by the end of 2021, analysing evidence of the positive results from the change between the systematic approach to road safety and interventions and setting out indicators to assess progress. The work is accompanied by pilot projects to examine the actual implementation of the safety system in different countries and cities.
