The BIO-INTEL-MOB Kick-off Meeting took place in Rome on 20–21 January 2026, hosted by the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome. The two-day event officially marked the launch of the project, bringing together consortium partners, pilot cities, and representatives of the European Commission to align on the project’s vision, governance framework, and initial implementation roadmap.
The meeting opened with welcome remarks from the Project Coordinator, Sapienza University of Rome, followed by a tour de table introducing 27 partners from 10 EU Member States, including CTLup, and 5 partners from 3 associated countries. This initial exchange highlighted the multidisciplinary expertise of the consortium and set the basis for effective collaboration.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the project’s overall concept and technical architecture, with particular attention to key digital innovations, including advanced Mobility Data Space (aMDS), Digital Twins, Green Smart Routing Algorithms (GSRA), Smart City Governance (SCGo) tools, and bioPLU concepts. Dedicated sessions addressed the organisation of work packages, pilot and demonstration activities, and coordination mechanisms for the first implementation phase. The Kick-off Meeting concluded with a shared roadmap for the coming months, confirming priorities, milestones, and next steps.
Overall, the event represented a major milestone for the nearly €10 million BIO-INTEL-MOB project, laying solid foundations for coordinated implementation and impact across all pilot and follower cities involved.
