On 9–10 April 2026, the SmartUrbanity Consortium gathered in Lyon (France) for its second General Assembly, hosted by ENTPE, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lyon. The two-day meeting provided an important opportunity for partners to review progress, align on next steps, and further strengthen collaboration across all project activities.
According to the agenda, the programme covered a wide range of sessions, including project status updates, work package discussions, and pilot site exchanges. CTLup actively contributed to the discussions as a key partner in WP1 – Project Management, supporting overall coordination together with Sapienza, and WP4 – Pilot Planning and Implementation, playing a central role in the development and execution of pilot activities across the project.
Significant progress was also reported on the development of the project’s digital tools, including the AccessTogether app and the AccessLab environment, which integrates the AccessMap and decision-support tools for planners. A key milestone of the meeting was the official launch of WP 5, focused on the development of guidelines, policy recommendations, and strategy optimization, marking a transition towards the implementation and policy-oriented phase of the project.
The agenda also included in-depth sessions on pilot sites and local challenges, allowing each pilot city (Rome, Karlsruhe, Izmir, Lyon, and Thurgau) to present progress and exchange experiences in a collaborative environment. The two-day event concluded with a technical bike tour across Lyon, offering participants a first-hand experience of the city’s cycling infrastructure and innovative mobility solutions.
The General Assembly in Lyon represented another important milestone for SmartUrbanity, reinforcing the consortium’s commitment to building sustainable, inclusive, and people-centred urban mobility solutions.
