From 18 to 21 May 2026, our research team participated in the Transport Research Arena 2026 (TRA 2026), one of Europe’s leading conferences on transport and mobility research, held this year in Budapest (Hungary). The event brought together researchers, institutions, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from across the world to exchange ideas and discuss the future of sustainable, innovative, and data-driven mobility systems.
During the conference, our team contributed with several scientific works addressing key challenges in transport, logistics, and road safety:
- “Smart Urban Freight Transport: Assessing the Opportunity Offered by Automated Vehicles”. Authors: Antonio Comi, Luca Persia, Davide Shingo Usami, Sevket Oguz Kagan Capkin, Hamid Aghel and David Gruhonjić — Presenter: Davide Shingo Usami
- “Impact Assessment of Federated Digital Logistics Services Through Insights from the Admiral Project Pilots”. Authors: Davide Shingo Usami, Sevket Oguz Kagan Capkin, and Roberto Carroccia — Presenter: Sevket Oguz Kagan Capkin (poster session)
- “A Crowdsourced Data Integration Model for Safer Transport Solutions: Challenges and Lessons from Danish Municipalities”. Author and Presenter: Manuel Merolla
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the BIO-INTEL-MOB project at the ECTRI Research Village Associations Stand. During the session, our researcher Sevket Oguz Kagan Capkin (Project Coordinator) introduced BIO-INTEL-MOB to fellow participants and stakeholders, highlighting its vision for a more intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable peri-urban mobility ecosystem.
TRA 2026 represented an important opportunity to strengthen international collaboration, disseminate our research outputs, and engage with the broader European scientific community on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of mobility.
