A strong link between road safety, emergency response, and life-saving training was at the core of the International Road Safety Forum, held on 9 October 2025 at Palazzo d’Accursio, Bologna. The event was organized by European Road Safety Charter, EFA – European Driving Schools Association, UNASCA, AIPSS, and partners, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bologna.
Our President, Prof. Luca Persia, took part in the session “The Future Challenges of Road Safety”, presenting a contribution focused on:
-
the implementation of Safe System principles in (urban) mobility management, such as the “30 km/h approach”;
-
the digitalization of road safety through video-inspections, satellite imagery, AI, floating car data, smartphone and GPS data;
-
and the role of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) as a key innovation to achieve “full safety”, in line with the EU Vision Zero 2050 objective.
The Forum represented an important opportunity to align with international, national, and local strategies for road safety, to strengthen connections with policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers, and to share our vision for a safer and more sustainable mobility system.
