On 19 December 2025, the final workshop of the project “Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for National Road Safety Action Plan and Road Safety Interventions” was held, focusing on strengthening road safety management through data-driven monitoring and evaluation tools.
The main objective of the consultancy activities was the development of a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework for road safety interventions in Uganda, aimed at supporting evidence-based policies and actions. In particular, the project included:
-
a review of existing road safety interventions, available data sources, and the stakeholders responsible for road safety management;
-
the definition of indicators and methodologies for monitoring and evaluating road safety interventions;
-
the design of an M&E framework tailored to the specific needs and priorities of the Ugandan context.
During the workshop, a key moment was Session 2 – “Development of a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for Road Safety Interventions in Uganda”, during which Brayan González-Hernández presented the methodological approach of the framework, the work plan, and the main consultancy deliverables. The session provided a structured overview of the M&E system development process, highlighting the importance of a coherent and shared approach to monitoring road safety policies.
The workshop fostered active dialogue among the various stakeholders involved, strengthening inter-institutional exchange and multi-level collaboration—key elements for improving road safety governance in Uganda.
