Sustainable Mobility and Road Safety: CTLup at Caracciolo Foundation Research Meeting

Luca Persia and Davide Shingo Usami contributed to the debate on the challenges of the ecological transition and road safety risk analysis

On 24 June 2026, the Filippo Caracciolo Foundation in Rome hosted the research meeting “Sustainable Mobility and Urban Road Safety: New Challenges for Public Policies”, organised by the Filippo Caracciolo Foundation and the Italian Automobile Club (ACI). The event aimed to explore the relationship between mobility innovation, road safety, and ongoing ecological transition.

The meeting provided an important opportunity for dialogue among institutions, researchers, public authorities, and industry stakeholders, who gathered to discuss the findings of the study “Comparative Analysis of Urban Road Accident Risk: A Comparison between Electric, Hybrid and Internal Combustion Vehicles”. Based on the integration of road crash data and vehicle fleet statistics, the research offered valuable insights into the risk profiles associated with different vehicle technologies.

CTLup actively contributed to the discussion through the participation of Prof. Luca Persia and Davide Shingo Usami, who shared their perspectives on urban road safety, technological developments in the vehicle sector, and the implications of these changes for public policies and mobility planning.

Among the key topics addressed during the event were the role of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), interactions between vehicles and vulnerable road users, the specific characteristics of electric and hybrid vehicles, and the effectiveness of infrastructure and regulatory measures designed to improve safety in urban environments.

CTLup’s participation confirms our continued commitment to promoting scientific research, data-driven analysis, and multidisciplinary dialogue in support of safer, more sustainable, and more efficient mobility systems.
